Impermanence
You are like the autumn leaf.
colors that captivate
a treasure to tend.
I, a wild woman
with love to lend.
My heart yearns to forage
you from the forest floor
to take you on my journey
and forever more.
Yet,
my soul sings your purpose,
because it’s similar to mine.
You were meant to release
from the branches of your vine.
Taken by wind
untethered and free.
destined to nourish
the roots of your own tree.
So above, as below.
Is something I accept.
Yet your vibrance, a memory
I can not neglect
So, inevitably I dream
back in time
when your goodness nurtured
roots that were mine.
