The Desert Unseen
I move through this landscape
for the first time
with each step I am taught
a way that is not mine.
I learn,
the wind strips you down
to nothing but bones.
so at night you can lay
naked
blanketed by the unknown.
By day I wander.
consumed by desert heat
unabashed, I surrender
rendered by defeat.
Now, my blood refined
I sense magic
in this life of mine.
With every mile I walk
I witness treasure in every step
sense beauty in all I’ve met.
This land gifted me
jewels as desert bones
I wear them proudly
as I continue into the unknown.
